Thomas Peter Swanwick known to many as Swany, 69 years young of S. Easton Massachusetts passed away on December 6th, 2016.  He spent his remaining days surrounded by friends, family and loved ones.  He will now join his wife Janie who left us last year, they were married for 49 years.  He is survived by their three children, his oldest son Thomas and his wife Michelle, Wayne J. Swanwick and his daughter Erica JS Cummings and her husband Mark. He was an amazing Papa and leaves behind Blaise Swanwick, Melissa Bartlett, Christopher, Joseph and Jordan Swanwick, Andrew, Ella and Cameron Cummings and one great-grandchild William Bartlett. He is also survived by his brothers Joel and his wife Sheila of Randolph and Michael and his wife Susan of Newton, NH.  Brother in law of Linda A. and the late Gary Munroe of Holbrook, Steven J. Carter and Michelle of Dallas, Texas and the late Richard C. and Sandra Carter. Thomas is also survived by many nieces, nephews and devoted friends.

Thomas was born in Boston and raised in Randolph by the late Joseph and Barbara Swanwick. He graduated from Norfolk County Agricultural High School.  He spent his summers growing up working on the Gilman family farms in Chelsea Vermont, a place that was very special to him and shaped the person he became.   Tom had a diverse career that began as a union welder working on submarines, LNG tankers and became a lead foreman for General Dynamics at the Quincy shipyard working alongside other members of the family including his father in-law and brother in-law.  He left General Dynamics and worked to help complete the last nuclear power plant built in the United States in Seabrook N.H.  He worked there as an x-ray welding inspector, when that work was completed he went back to General Dynamics until they closed that facility.   He finished his working career as a foreman for the MBTA.

Tom had a fine working career, but what he was really known, loved and admired for was his incredible work ethic outside of the workplace always ready to lend a hand to a friend or family member, all the while always working on one of his never ending projects.   To say he was creative is an understatement, his gardening and landscaping were impeccable, the numerous hand built decorative wheel barrels  or his hand built sleighs were a welcomed gift from a generous soul.  He loved to relax by fishing, canoeing, reading a book or watching a car race.

Tom will be sorely missed and often remembered for his kind, generous personality, his never ending stories and his love and loyalty to his family and friends.  We miss you Papa, Dad, Swany.
