The Leighton Funeral Home was established by George & Marjorie (Pratt) Leighton and was Hanson’s first funeral home. After years of working with Mrs. Leighton, Rich MacKinnon Jr. purchased the funeral home in 2001. Since taking ownership there has been extensive work done to the property which included a much needed addition to the chapel, additional parking, and an entire renovation to the inside with new furnishings. The facility was also updated to be fully handicapped accessible. This location, along with all of our funeral homes, offers a quiet, comfortable and homelike atmosphere. We also have a “Children’s Room” with a television, movies, and toys. All our homes have a large flat screen television for playing Memorial Video’s or playing your old family movies. Our Hanson funeral home proudly serves Hanson, Halifax, Whitman, Pembroke, Abington, Rockland, Hanover, East Bridgewater, West Bridgewater, and all of the South Shore.
