William D. S. Alger, also known as Bill, passed away on February 3, 2024, at the age of 94 in Halifax, MA. He was born on April 24, 1929, in Brockton, MA. Bill was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with his loved ones. He is survived by his wife Ernestine "Tina" Inman Alger, his sons William Alger, Robert Alger, and Thomas Alger, as well as his grandchildren Shaun, Briston, Thomas, and Amanda. Also, two great-grandchildren.
Bill served in the Army and was proud of his military associations. After his military service, he had a successful career at Armstrong World Industries. Outside of work, Bill had a passion for gardening, farming, and arts & crafts. He found joy in nurturing plants, working on his farm "Alger's Farm" in Halifax, and expressing his creativity through various artistic projects. Bill also enjoyed traveling in his various motorhomes with his wife; Tina.
Bill was a member of the Halifax Congregational Church, Halifax Farmers Club, American Legion Post 226, and Halifax Historical Society.
Visiting hours will be in the Halifax Congregational Church 503 Plymouth St (Rte. 106) Halifax at10 AM to 12 PM With services at 12 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Burial following at Central Cemetery, Halifax.
