Ruth Busche Obituary

Ruth E. (Heine) Busche passed away peacefully at home on February 13th with her daughters, Ann Marie and Nancy, by her side.  The daughter of Otto and Catherine (Heyd) Heine, Ruth was born in Pennsylvania and moved to Greenfield, MA early in life and finally settled in the Hough’s Neck section of Quincy, MA.  She fell for a sailor and met the love of her life, Charles “Chuck” Busche (deceased) and they were married in February of 1955 while Chuck was on shore leave.  They settled in Hanson and built a home where they raised their two girls and spent the rest of their lives.

Ruth was completely devoted to her family and was most joyous when they were all around.  She was a selfless person who always put her husband, daughters, grandchildren and extended family first.  Ruth was a person of simple needs and lived rich in her faith, family and friends throughout her life.

Ruth enjoyed trips to Pennsylvania and Florida for reunions, the occasional trip to Foxwoods/Twin River with Chuck, cruising with in-laws and especially many trips to the camper in Vermont with her grandchildren.  She would burst with pride over the accomplishments of “her kids” and was always there to hear about their troubles as well.  Nana always had a smile and a hug that made all right with the world.

Ruth worked for many years as a teacher’s aid in the Hanson school system.  She was also a Brownie/Girl Scout leader during her girl’s younger years.  Later in life, Ruth volunteered at the Hanson Senior Center in their Supportive Day Program.

Predeceased by her parents, her infant son Michael and her husband Chuck, her brother Joseph and his wife Pauline. Ruth leaves her daughter Ann Marie Riley and her husband Gregory of Bourne, her daughter Nancy Bowers and her husband William of Marshfield, her grandchildren: Derek and his wife Amy, Kurt and his wife Angie, Paul and his wife Sarah, Gretchen, Billy and his wife Molly, Brian and his fiancé Samantha and Stephen.  Ruth cherished her great-grandchildren, Gavin, Austin, Braelyn, Autumn, Parker, Hudson and Brooklyn as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ruth’s faith in God was unwavering.  We will miss her dearly but trust that she is now free of restrictions and comfortable with God and Chuck resting in eternal peace and maybe hitting a casino or two.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, February 29th from 4PM to 7PM at Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home, 4 West Washington Street, Hanson, MA.  A celebration of Ruth’s life will be held at a funeral Mass on Friday, March 1st at 11 o’clock at St. Joseph the Worker Church, Holy Apostles Parish, 1 Maquan Street, Hanson.  Interment will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.  Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
