Obituary

Marlene F Wilbur, 78, of Duxbury, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 after a short illness.

She was born to the late Nelson and Rose Ewell. She was a loving sister to the late Melvin Ewell and Richard Ewell.

Marlene will be remembered for her unconditional love and devotion to her family. Her love for her 3 children and her 4 grandchildren could be felt from miles away. She brought a light into every room she entered. Her quick-whit and fun loving spirit was contagious.

She had a passion for Elvis, line dancing, swimming and the New England Patriots. She would go to dances on the weekends and you couldn’t get her off the dance floor. She was an incredible crocheter. She made beautiful blankets, Christmas stockings and clothes. One time she made little Santa hats for the Patriot cheerleaders which was a huge hit and a dream come true for her.

Marlene will be lovingly missed and remembered by her husband of over 50 years Ernest Wilbur.  Her 3 sons: Brad Wilbur and his wife Brenda; Keith Wilbur and his children Ayden and Alayna; John Wilbur his wife Katie and their children Lily and Luke. She is also survived by her cousin Mary Ford and many other nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather and share stories on Saturday, May 6, 2023 from 1-3 pm at Leighton-Mackinnon Funeral Home, 4 West Washington St., Hanson, MA.
