Obituary

Lorenzo Cruz Duprey died peacefully surrounded by family on August 5, 2023 of the age of 89 he was 1 month shy of his 90th birthday.

He was born on September 5,1933, in Guayama, Puerto Rico. Lorenzo moved to Brockton, MA in the early 1950’s, He worked for the City of Brockton D.P.W. until his retirement. After retirement he worked on occasion at D.W. Fields golf course and had much love for the game of golf. He was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan.

Lorenzo was the loving husband of the late Mildred “Millie” Cruz (Goulet). He leaves behind his daughters, Lisa Alden (Cruz)of Brockton, Joanna Creighton (Cruz) of Abington, Christina Clark (Cruz) of East Bridgewater, and son Lorenzo M. Cruz of Brockton, Grandchildren Timothy, Amy, Robert, and Leah. He also leaves behind many brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico and the United States.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation Friday August 11th between the hours of 8am-10am in the Leighton-Mackinnon Funeral Home, located 4 West Washington St. Hanson. (corner of 58)

Graveside burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery in Brockton.

Lorenzo Cruz Duprey murió pacíficamente rodeado de su familia el 5 de agosto de 2023 a la edad de 89 años, le faltaba 1 mes para cumplir 90 años.

Nació el 5 de septiembre de 1933 en Guayama, Puerto Rico. Lorenzo se mudó a Brockton, MA a principios de la década de 1950. Trabajó para la Ciudad de Brockton D.P.W. hasta su jubilación. Después de jubilarse, trabajó ocasionalmente en D.W. Campos de golf y tenía mucho amor por el juego de golf. También era un ávido fanático de los Medias Rojas de Boston.

Lorenzo fue el amado esposo de la fallecida Mildred “Millie” Cruz (Goulet). Deja atrás a sus hijas, Lisa Alden (Cruz) de Brockton, Joanna Creighton (Cruz) de Abington, Christina Clark (Cruz) de East Bridgewater y su hijo Lorenzo M. Cruz de Brockton, nietos Timothy, Amy,

Robert y Leah. También deja muchos hermanos y hermanas en Puerto Rico y los Estados Unidos.

Los familiares y amigos están invitados a asistir al velorio el viernes 11 de agosto entre las 8 am y las 10 am en la funeraria Leighton-Mac Kinnon, ubicada en 4 West Washington St. Hanson.

El entierro junto a la tumba seguirá en el cementerio de Melrose en Brockton
