Linda Woodward Obituary

CHANGE OF FUNERAL SERVICE DATE

Linda M. Woodward of Pembroke passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the age of 74. She was the daughter of the late Albert A. and Rose A. (Severse) Centrella and the sister of the late Marie A. Centrella.

Linda is survived by her devoted, loving husband of 43 years, Wayne Woodward of Pembroke, daughter Stacy A. Stoddard and husband Daniel of Rockland, son Ryan B. Durfee and his wife Jennifer of Whitman as well as her beloved granddaughters Reese and Sophie Durfee of Whitman who she loved dearly. Linda is also survived by a very large extended family and many close friends.

Linda loved the holidays, baking with her grandchildren and protected her family fiercely. She was very stubborn, quite sassy and always told you the direct truth even if you didn’t want to hear it at times. This was also why many loved to just call her to chat or come over for a cup of coffee to get some of her best advice on life.

Linda was a lover of all animals, but loved her Golden Retriever, Cody and West Highland Terrier, Mikey so much. She always encouraged helping and speaking up for those that can’t speak for themselves including animals. After Linda’s parent’s passing, she took over the full responsibility of managing the care and wellbeing of her mentally challenged sister, Marie and made sure she was always well taken care of and included in all aspects of our family.

Linda worked as a Home Health Aide for many years because she liked helping others and enjoyed taking care of her clients and making new friends. Prior to this, she was a waitress at her parent’s very popular restaurant in Hanson, The Clam Hut. One of her best accomplishments was working full-time for Zayre,s Department Store in the 1980’s as a Security Officer all while raising two very young children as a single parent.

Visiting hours will be held in the Leighton-Mackinnon Funeral Home, 4 West Washington St. (Corner of Rte. 58), Hanson on Thursday, February 24 from 3-7 pm followed by services at the Funeral Home on Monday, February 28th at 10:00 am.
