Gary M. Wilson, 69, of Quincy, was "called up to the big league" on Sunday, July 23rd, 2023. He was surrounded by family when he peacefully passed after watching the Red Sox win one last time. "Go Sox!" He was born to the late George and M. Phyllis Wilson on December 4th, 1953. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Deanna L. (Devingo). Father of Shaun Wilson and his wife Lisa of Whitman, MA. Grandfather of Evander "Champ" Wilson. Brother of Gregory Wilson (deceased); Glen Wilson of Southington, CT; Marybeth "May-beth" Noble and her husband John of Plymouth, MA; his "lucky charm" Margaret Gundersen and her husband Carl of Wrentham, MA. Brother-in-law to Delores "Dede" Bell of Dorchester, MA; Robert and Gina Devingo of China, ME; and John and Patricia Young of N. Attleboro, MA. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Gary graduated from Coyle Cassidy, H.S. in 1971 and then attended Suffolk University. He was a devoted daily viewer of Wheel Of Fortune who ran on Dunkin' and all things New England sports (especially his beloved Pats). Gary worked in retail for over 40 years at Rix, CVS and Walgreens before calling it a career. He was a generous man with quick wit and an even quicker smile. Affectionately referred to as the "Mayor", he had a "Hello" for everyone who passed. Gary held God, his family and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups above all. He lived to help others without ever expecting anything in return. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating his life on August 20th, 2023 from 4-8pm at the Meadow Brook Restaurant, 1486 Main Street, Rt. 27, Hanson, MA 02341. Arrangements made by the Leighton-Mackinnon Funeral Home, Hanson.
