Dottie (Fahnley) Dolim

Dottie Fahnley Dolim, loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother, age 81 passed away on Saturday, July 23,2022 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. She was born June 23, 1941 in Boston, MA where she spent her early years. A still young Dottie moved to Marshfield MA with her parents James and Dorothy Fahnley through her later childhood and teenage years. She loved the beach and the ocean and many of her fondest memories were spent at her grandparents’ cottage in Humarock, MA. She and her husband, John Dolim raised their two children John and Michelle in Pembroke, MA.

As a young woman Dottie attended and graduated from Chandler Secretarial School in Boston. She worked as a secretary for Burke Distributing Company in Dorchester, MA for many years and was close with her sister, the late Olive Connors and her nieces and nephews who lived in Dorchester; often stopping for dinner before going home. She was her sister’s children’s favorite babysitter.

Her family will miss her kind, caring and loving ways. Her kindness extended to community where she volunteered with the Pembroke Council on Aging for several years driving Seniors to appointments. She was also a lover of animals and truly enjoyed the company of her household pets and neighborhood and backyard critters. She cared about the welfare of all living creatures very much.

She leaves behind her husband John of 50 years, her son and daughter John and Michelle, her grandaughters, Brittany and Chantalle, 3 great grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at Cedar Grove Cemetery 1981 Ocean St., Marshfield on Tuesday August 2nd at 11 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
