Dana Bosworth Obituary

Dana A. Bosworth, 50, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday morning February 15, 2020.  Dana fought his cancer courageously, never complaining and never giving up hope.  Dana was born in Middleboro, Massachusetts and resided in Halifax Massachusetts for most of his life.  Dana attended Fishburne Academy, in Virginia, was a 1987 graduate of Silver Lake High School in Kingston, Massachusetts and went into the Army Reserves after graduation.  Dana spent 20 years as a correctional officer with the Massachusetts Department of Corrections.   He was an experienced marksman, loved travelling, scuba diving and catching lobsters by hand.  Dana was a kind soul who was always willing to lend a hand to help a friend. 

Dana is the son of Ruth Bosworth and the late Daniel O. Bosworth.  Dana is survived by his sister Danielee “Sissy” Fowler (Butch Fowler), brother Daniel O. Bosworth Jr. (Dawn Bosworth), brother Donald Bosworth (Dianne Sampson), and sister Donnalee “Tootie” Smith (Michael Smith). He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Jolene Miles, Corene Miles, Stephen Miles Jr. (Cindy Estep), Olivia Brousseau (Henri Brousseau), Michael Smith (Ashley Eaton) and Daniel O Bosworth III.   Dana leaves behind many beloved great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation and memorial service will be held Saturday, March 14 from 1-4 pm at Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home, 4 West Washington St., (Corner Rte. 58), Hanson.  In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Dana Farber for cancer research at www.dana-farber.org/gift.
