William (Billy) McGivney of Boston,Ma. died unexpectedly on September 3, 2022. He was 66 years old.

Born in Arlington,Massachusetts , he was the son of Marlene F. McGivney and the late William R. McGivney ,Sr. He was beloved brother to Lea Bouchard of Carver,Ma.,Paul McGivney of Hawley,Pa., Sarah Turner and her husband David of San Diego, Ca. and Dana McGivney and his wife Lori of Rockland,Ma.  He was predeceased by his brother Kyle McGivney. He was father to Melissa Bere Nickerson and grandfather to Sky Mary and Summer Johanna Nickerson. Cherished Uncle to Jared,Will, Marielle,Alissa,Rachele,D.J.,Joshua,Chloe and Arianna.

Billy was a 1974 graduate of Whitman-Hanson Regional High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1975 where he served for 10 years.

Our Family would like to thank the Pine Street Inn and Uphams PACE Center. on Dearborn St. In Boston for the great care Billy received  the 5 years he was in their program.It was a great comfort to our family to know he had a roof over his head, somewhere to go everyday and staff that truly cared for him.

Visiting hours will be in the Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 West Washington St. (Corner Rte. 58) Hanson on Friday Sept. 16 4-7 PM. Relatives and Friends respectfully invited to attend. Funeral Service to be held on Saturday  September 17,2022  At 10:00 AM at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, 77 Rockland St, Hanover, Ma. Burial to follow at Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson,Ma.
