Sylvia J. Nickolaow, age 89, of Raynham, MA passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026 after a short illness at Boston Medical Center South in Brockton –while surrounded by her loving family. Sylvia was born on August 9, 1936 to Roland G. LaBelle and Helen U. LaBelle who predeceased her, and she grew up in their family home on Gladstone Street in Brockton.
Sylvia was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother – whose greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Sylvia was a woman of faith and was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness from the time she was a child. She was baptized in 1951. Sylvia was known for her warm heart, her love of cooking, shopping, crafting, and the care she gave to those around her. Throughout her life, she was always known for being among the firstto offer support and assistance to those in need.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband James Nickolaow and by her previous husband Carlos G. Millett. She is survived by her brother Roger LaBelle of Corea, Maine and his wife Bonnie. She is also survived by her loving children: Glenn Millett of Raynham and his wife Rosanne; Karen (Millett) Botelho of Tiverton, RI and preceded in death by her son-in-law, Victor Botelho; Brian Millett of East Bridgewater and his wife Linda; her stepdaughter Leeanne (Nickolaow) Scott of Alton Bay, New Hampshire and her husband Kenneth. She was predeceased by her first son David Millett and survived by his former wife, Debbie.
She leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Jessica, Joshua, Jacob, Matthew, Eric, Kyle, Tyler, Scott, Shane, Nicole, William, and Robert; along with great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family members, and many dear friends who will miss her deeply.
Sylvia will be remembered for her kindness, her devotion to her faith and hope for the future, and the love she shared with all who knew her. Her legacy of family, faith, and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind – until she sees them again.
• Visitation will be held between 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, March 20th at Leighton-Mackinnon Funeral Home, 4 West Washington Street (corner of 58) Hanson, MA
• Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 21st at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 339 Summer Street, Rockland, MA
