Scott David Edgehille, 56, of Hanson, Mass., passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2026. Scotty was born on January 10th, 1970, in Weymouth, Massachusetts. He was the son of Richard Edgehille and the late Sally Edgehille.

After graduating from South Shore Vocational Technical High School in 1988, Scott applied his carpentry skills at numerous South Shore businesses. He found his true passion in the countertop industry, where he spent many years at Ware Rite. Scott took special pride in sharing his talent to help family and friends design the perfect countertops for their spaces.

Outside of work, Scotty was an avid fisherman with great angler skills and a proud life member of the Quincy Yacht Club, as well as an active member of the Harvey’s Saltwater Fishing Club. He grew up on West Monponsett Lake in Hanson - his absolute favorite place on earth and a haven he loved sharing with others. If you met Scott and shared a passion for fishing you were instantly friends and invited to come share his fishing spot and offered the use of his own boat. In the colder months, his friends waited for him to announce the ice was safe for ice fishing.

 Scott is survived by a large, loving family, including his father, Richard; his brother Kevin; his sister Kristen; two nieces, three nephews, and one great niece. He was a quiet presence among a large crowd of cousins, aunts, and uncles who loved him deeply and always gathered together to celebrate any occasion. Scott was preceded in death by his loving mother, and his brother, Patrick, who passed away in 1987 from muscular dystrophy.

He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to a visitation from 4 - 8 pm at the Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home, 4 West Washington Street, Hanson, Mass on Thursday, June 4th, 2026. Interment will take place at a later date.
