It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Travers on May 26th. 2026 at the age of 85 after a long illness. He was born in Taunton, MA  May 17, 1941, to John Travers and Claire Savoie Travers. He grew up in Taunton, MA with his five siblings and many friends. He attended Taunton schools. He enjoyed fishing and earned the nickname Perch. He joined the Army and proudly served his time in Germany. He loved music and played the drums and joined many bands, most notably the Spi-dells. He spent much of his working career in the automobile business and retired from Millbrook Motors in Duxbury. He really loved all the people there. He was a great craftsman and could make anything from elaborate bird houses to grandfather clocks. He learned how to repair old clocks and met his good friend Bob and enjoyed spending time with him in his shop. He made Christmas Eve fun for our grandkids dressing as Santa and passing out gifts. He is survived by his wife Cathy of 58 years and three sons; Michael and Janene of New Bedford, David and Ann of Hanson and William and Kelly of Waltham. Ron was also known as Hampie to his grandchildren Devan, Joshua and Emilee whom he so dearly loved. He was predeceased by his brothers, Richard and John, and his sister, Elaine. He is survived by his sisters Jeanne and Louise and many nieces and nephews. He loved his family and was very proud of the good men his sons are. He did the best he could and Mulligan will miss him too.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Leighton-Mackinnon Funeral Home 4 West Washington St (Corner of R 58) Hanson MA,  Saturday, June 13th 11am - 1:30pm, with a Funeral Service at 1:30pm
