Robert H. Kennedy, 52, of Wareham died suddenly on April 9,2021, at home after a brief period of illness.
Born on Feb.15, 1969, he was the son of William R. and Sharon B. (Hayden) Kennedy of Hanson.
Robert was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School class of 1987 and entered the U.S. Air Force that same year. He honorably served for six years and was deployed overseas as a Fire Protection Specialist during the Desert Shield/ Storm war as well as being stationed in the United Kingdom. His military decorations included the National Defense Service medal, the South West Asia Service Medal with two bronze stars, AF Outstanding Unit Award with three oak leaf clusters, the Kuwait Liberation Medal and the AF Overseas Service Long Tour Ribbon.
Upon discharge he worked in the insurance field in Florida, before returning to MA where he was employed in the offices of Harte-Hanks and Clean Harbor. His last employment was as a commercial roofing specialist with Tecta America N.E. LLC.
He was the proud father of Hayden W. Kennedy of Ashby and loving companion of Janet Ellis of Plymouth. Beloved brother of Maureen (Kennedy) Curran and her husband Kevin of Hanson and Jason M. Kennedy and his wife Nicole of Bridgewater. Popular uncle to Allison (Godfrey) McGauren and husband William of Medford, Jessica Godfrey, Angela Kennedy- Curran, and Rachel Kennedy-Curran of Hanson and Brian Kennedy of Bridgewater. In addition, he had a large family of loving and supportive aunts; Bonnie Jean, Margaret, Barbara, Dale, Leah and Monique. Uncles; Kevin and Mark, Late Uncles; Tom, Matthew and Stephen. Cousins; Jennifer, Sarah, Elizabeth, Ira, Dillon, Amber, Johanna, Danielle, Rebekah, Alicia, Alana, Chris, Jordon, and Chantal.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at Holy Apostles Church (The former St. Joseph the Worker Church) Corner of Rte. 14 and 58 in Hanson, Saturday April 17th at 11 AM. Relatives and Friends invited to attend.
Burial with Honors will be at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave, Bourne, MA on Thursday April 22, 2021 at 10:30 AM Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
