Robert E Hansen's Obituary

Robert E “Bob” Hansen, age 96, died peacefully at home in Hanson MA the morning of April 4, 2026 attended by his middle son Roland. Bob was born December 29, 1929 in Madison Maine. He was the son of Carl E Hansen & Mildred E (Anderson) Hansen of Maine.

 He leaves behind his daughter Jean M Fay and her Husband Ron Fay, son Steven C Hansen, son Roland E Hansen, daughter in law Kathleen Hansen, daughter Candace S Scarborough and her husband Karl Scarborough, and daughter Cassandra Alexander. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Crystal, Keenan, Kollyn, Kiara, Julie, Matthew, Brittany, Edward, Joshua, Jessica, & Dakota. 6 great-grandchildren Samantha, Nathan, William, Heavenlee, Casey & Jasmyne, at least 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his son Robert J Hansen, and four grandchildren Steven, Charlie, Kenneth, & Candy 

Robert graduated Cony High School of Augusta Maine in 1948 and attended Colby College in Waterville, Maine where he received a degree in Accounting. He started his career as a banker in Maine. He was a corporate accountant for several companies in Massachusetts and Florida prior to his retirement. 

Robert was a sergeant in the US Army during the Korean War. A member of Company A 634 th Armored Infantry Battalion stationed at Fort Hood Texas He would often tell stories of his basic training.

 He joined the Fraternal Order of Freemasons March 16, 1959 and was a proud member of the Bethlehem Lodge in Augusta ME for 67 years. 

During his middle years Bob enjoyed traveling. He had been to Europe, the Caribbean,Hawaii, Alaska and The Grand Canyon. A couple decades ago he drove cross country with one of his sons and visited National parks, national monuments & several tourist sites, making many happy memories. In his later years he especially liked watching game shows including The Price is Right, Let’s Make a Deal & Wheel of Fortune. He liked to laugh and watched TV comedies, his favorite being The Big Bang Theory, and was known for cracking off color jokes. He made friends amongst the staff and customers at the local restaurant, Connie’s in Hanson, where he and son Roland would go to breakfast every Sunday morning. 

He will be missed dearly.

Burial will be at a later date.
