Obituary

Robert T Gammon of Middleboro died peacefully on July 26 at age 98 after a brief illness.  Robert was born in Brockton and formerly lived in West Bridgewater, Pinellas Park, FL, and Sandwich.  Bob was married to the late Marjorie J. Gammon.  He is survived by his son, David (Marilyn) Gammon of East Bridgewater and his daughter, Jane (Danny) Burns of Norton.  He is also survived by his grandchildren, Nicole (Brendan) Healy of East Bridgewater and Brett Gammon of Braintree.  He was great grandfather to Bennett, Addison and Calvin Healy.

Bob graduated from Brockton High School in 1944 and from Bentley College in 1949.  He then embarked on a long career at Shaw's Supermarket (formerly BPM) before retiring in 1986. He was an avid golfer playing his first round at the DW Field Golf course at age 13.  He kept playing golf into his early 90s continuing to win many tournaments. Bob was a member of the Rotary Club for many years. He loved to travel taking many trips with his wife throughout the US, Europe, South America, Australia and Asia with a favorite being the family trip to the Rose Bowl Parade in California.

Visitation to be held on Wednesday, July 31 at the Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 West Washington Street, Hanson, MA 02341 from 10-11am followed by burial at the Beaver Cemetary in East Bridgewater.
