Richard G. "Dick" Poitras of Pembroke passed away peacefully
Friday August 14, 2015 with his family by his side at the age of 80. Former husband of Mary Margaret (Wetsell) Poitras of Marshfield and the late Toni L. (Danz) of CT. Loving father of Jeffrey Poitras and his wife Kathriyn of CT, Colin Poitras of CT, Sarah Comerford and her husband William of Plympton, and Denise Morisseau and her husband Mario of Marshfield. Brother of Lawrence and Raymond Poitras of NY, and the late Robert, Thomas, Joseph, and George Poitras. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dick worked at Electric Boat in Groton, CT and was a Supervisor at General Dynamics at the Quincy Ship Yard, and was the Building and Ground Coordinator at the Society of St. Margaret's Convent in Duxbury. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and in the Honor Guard in the U.S. Army. Visiting hours will be held in the Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 West Washington St. (Corner Rte. 58), Hanson Thursday 10-12 noon with services at 12 noon in the Funeral Home. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will take place at Mayflower Cemetery in Duxbury.
