Raymond Gardner Towne, 76, of Rockland, Massachusetts, passed away on July 20, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. He was born on August 1, 1949, in Hanson, Massachusetts, and later made his home in Rockland. He was the husband of Linda Towne, to whom he was married for 56 years.

In addition to his wife Linda, Raymond is survived by his four children: Shawn Towne and his wife Jen, Heather Morgan and her husband John, Jason Towne, and Nick Towne and his wife Erin. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and his siblings: Harold Towne and his wife, Joan; Joyce Green; Nancy Spoerke and her husband, Frank; and Robin Bousquet and her husband, Bob. Raymond worked at the Foxboro Company and later retired from Polymer Design.

He enjoyed playing horseshoes and cards at the Hanson AA, singing, dancing, and karaoke. He and Linda shared a love of digging clams and quahogs, which they would prepare as stuffed quahogs. He followed football and NASCAR, and enjoyed camping and cookouts with his family. Raymond Gardner Towne will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visiting Hours will be held in the Leighton- MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 West Washington St. (Corner of Rte. 58) Hanson on Thursday July 30th 4-7 PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
