Priscilla Almeida of Marblehead (formerly of Lynn) passed away on April 16, 2014. She was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Deolinda (Furtado) Almeida. Loving sister of Deolinda Correia, Dorothy Zawisa, and Bettye Almeida. Longtime friend of Harry McCabe. She is survived by many nieces and nephews. Priscilla received her Bachelor's and M.S. in Nursing from Boston College where she served as an assistant professor, Medical-Surgical Nursing, for eight years. Her influence was felt by her students and her dedication to helping others ranged far beyond the classroom. She went on to practice nursing at Boston City Hospital and Lynn Hospital, more recently, as Assistant Director of Division of Nursing. Priscilla subsequently spent 14 years in the non-profit world in operational related roles positively impacting the Lynn community (Lynn Employment and Training Services, Job Options and North Shore Employment Training). Priscilla instilled in others the need to give back more than they receive, and an appreciation of the humanity of a person. She will be extremely missed by all who knew her.
