Starts at 10:00 am (Eastern time)
Paul Howard Boraks died peacefully at home on September 15, 2026, surrounded by friends and family, after a long battle with pneumonia and kidney failure. He was 85 years old.
Paul was born on June 28, 1941, in Malden, Massachusetts, the son of George E. and Betty (Holzberg) Boraks. He graduated from Malden Vocational High School, where he concentrated his studies in auto mechanics — a trade that would define his working life.
Following high school, Paul joined the United States Air Force, serving in the motor pool and traveling the world to maintain and repair equipment for the Air Force. He earned an honorable discharge as an E-3 on September 7, 1963.
After his military service, Paul settled into a career as an auto mechanic, working for over 40 years at Columbia Gulf in Dorchester. Upon retiring, he moved to Carver to be closer to his nieces and nephew, who were his only remaining family.
Paul was predeceased by his parents, George and Betty (Holzberg) Boraks, and his brother, Jerry. He is survived by his nieces, Stacey (Boraks) Orlando and Lori Smith, and his nephew, Richard Smith, and Richard's wife, Heather, as well as several grandnieces and grandnephews.
A burial service will be held on Sunday, September 20, at 10:00 a.m. at Montefiore Cemetery, 19 Washington Street, Woburn. All are welcome to attend.
