Michael F King Jr., 83, a longtime resident of Weymouth, passed away in October 10, 2026. Who was born on April 8, 1943

Mike was the son of the late Michael F King Sr. and Shirley King. He was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Dorchester High School. He went on to serve 40 years with the Boston Fire Department , 12 years on Engine 4 and 28 years on the Arson Squad, before retiring in 2008.

Mike loved to be in a Fireman. He was a proud member of the Liars Club and took great pride in the brotherhood of the Job.

He was a beloved husband of Nancy for 58 years. He was a devoted father of Christopher King in the late Michael F King, III, and the proud grandfather of Tanner, Cameron, Maria and Ivy King. He was a brother or Sheryl King and the late Paul King and brother-in-law of Lois King. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, each of whom he was very close to.

Mike has always cherished his friends, especially his best friend the late Herbie Pearlstein and his wife Peggie. He was a familiar site in his neighborhood, sitting in his driveway with a cigar chatting with every neighbor who walked by. Everyone loved him.

Visiting hours will be held from the Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 West Washington St.(Corner of Rte. 58) Hanson on Saturday October 31st, 2026 from 10 AM to 12 PM with services in the Funeral Home at 12 PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
