Maryann Goldie of Halifax, formerly of Abington, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family after a long illness.
Born and raised in Abington, Maryann carried with her a deep love for family, friends, and the community where she grew up. She was devoted to those she loved and found her greatest joy in spending time with her family.
Maryann was the beloved wife of Paul Goldie. She was a loving mother to Allison Silva and her husband Rui, and to Paul Goldie and his wife Tobi. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Michael, Isabella, Joseph, Sidney,Gavin Audrey and Ethan.
Maryann treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren, whether cheering them on at sporting events or simply enjoying time together. They were the center of her world.
She is also survived by her sister, Jeanne Palsic of Abington, and her nephews, John and Matthew. Maryann shared a lifelong friendship with her childhood best friend, Susan Wicklund of Abington, whose friendship brought her much joy throughout the years.
Maryann had a special place in her heart for animals, especially her beloved dog, Charlotte, whose recent passing was deeply felt. The bond they shared brought her great comfort and companionship.
Maryann will be remembered for her loving heart, unwavering devotion to her family, and the warmth she brought to everyone who knew her. Her kindness, strength, and love will live on in the memories of those she leaves behind.
She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family and friends. ❤️
Visiting hours will be held in the Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 West Washington St (Corner of Rte. 58) Hanson on Sunday June 14th from 3-5 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Apostles Parish Our Lady of The Lake Church (Rte 58) in Halifax on Monday June 15th at 11 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment will be at Central Cemetery in Halifax.
