Obituary
Martin F. Craven formerly of Hanson and Brockton passed away on June 26, 2012 at Falmouth Hospital. Mr. Craven was 83 years old. He was the husband of his first wife, the late Dorothea Craven (Edwards) and his second wife, the late Marion Hannigan (Ferry). Martin leaves behind his children Martin J. Craven of Tewksbury and Mary McKiernan of Wareham. He is survived by his step-children Rose F. Ruxton and Mary Lou Proia, both of Rhode Island. Mr. Craven was the proud grandfather of 14 and the loving great-grandfather of 7 as well as the uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was the beloved brother of John Craven of Marston Mills. Mr. Craven was predeceased by his step-son the late Lewis J. Hannigan Jr.
Mr. Craven was born in Brockton, MA on October 31, 1928 and was the son of the late Patrick and Helena (Garrity) Craven. He was employed by the First National Supermarkets through Massachusetts. Martin enjoying watching the Boston Red Sox and playing golf.
Visiting Hours will be held on Sunday July 1, 2012 from 4-8pm at Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 W. Washington St. HANSON. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday July 2, 2012 at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Halifax at 9 am. Interment will follow in Fern Hill Cemetery in Hanson.
