Laura Jean (Horne) Burke57, of Halifax, MA Laura Jean (Horne) Burke, age 57, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Raised in East Bridgewater, Laura was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. 

As a mother, she was incredibly protective of her three girls, putting her children and grandchildren before everything else without second thought. The ultimate role model, she taught her daughters strength, independence, and unconditional love. She leaves behind a legacy of motherhood that will guide them for generations. She was, quite simply, the best Mom, Nana, and Nini anyone could ever ask for.

Laura dedicated over 25 years to the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. And while she took pride in her work, her greatest joy in life was her family. Whether she was enjoying concerts and shows, playing board games with family, or relaxing on vacation at Point Sebago, Laura treasured every moment spent making memories with those she loved most. She especially loved spoiling her children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 35 years, John; her three loving daughters, Amanda (and husband David), Lisa (and husband Gregory), and Stephanie (and husband Nathan); and her five adored grandchildren, Luke, Matilda, Harriet, James, and baby boy Keefe, who all brought endless happiness to her life.

Laura is also survived by her siblings, Steve Horne (and wife Kathleen), Greg Horne, and Christa Anzalone (and husband Rick), as well as many extended family members, friends, coworkers, and of course, her dog Dreyfus.

 Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, August 20 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home located at 4 West Washington St. (corner of RTE 58) Hanson, MA.
