Obituary
Joseph M. O'Brien of Hanson, passed away on Christmas in his home surrounded by his family. He was 75 years old. He was the beloved husband of Carol T. (Vandenberghe) O'Brien and the loving father of Laurie Tetley and her husband Dave of Waltham, Michael O'Brien and his wife Jill of Plymouth, Richard O'Brien of Montana, and William O'Brien and his wife Dianne of Rockland. He was the cherished grandfather of 7, and also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force serving from 1955-1963. Joseph worked as a Union Iron Worker for Local 501.
Funeral from the Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 West Washington St. (at Rte58) Hanson on Monday, Dec 30,at 9 am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 am in St. Joseph the Worker Church 1 Maquan St., Hanson, with interment to follow at 1:15 pm in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Visiting hours on Sunday from 2-6 pm in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Joseph's memory to Cranberry Hospice 36 Cordage Park Circle Plymouth, MA 02360.
