Obituary
Joseph M. Briggs of Pembroke passed away peacefully at Wingate at Silver Lake Nursing Home on Sunday, April 6th. He was 80 years old.
Joe retired from the Bay State Gas Co. in 1996 where he worked as a truck driver delivering propane gas.
He was the beloved husband of Marjorie (Krause) Briggs for 46 wonderful years. Joe also leaves his sons Joseph Briggs III and wife Janet of Simi Valley, CA, Thomas Briggs and wife Tina of Durhamville, NY, and Scott Briggs and wife Chinnete of Newbury Park, CA. He was the brother of Robert Briggs and his wife Peggy of Pembroke, and his sisters Jean McCaffrey and husband Jerry of Sierraville, CA, Barbara Garinger and husband Harry of La Grande, Oregon, Beverly Taylor and her husband Claude of Valley Springs, CA, and the late Alice Lantz of CA, the late Janet Peterson of MA & LA, and the late Nannette Charles of Marshfield, MA.
Joe was the son of the late Joseph Briggs Sr. and late wife Elsie of Pembroke. He also leaves 3 grandchildren Tara, Thomas, and Timothy of Durhamville, NY, 10 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph enjoyed camping and taking trips around the country. He belonged to several Good Sam Clubs, the former Coachman Club and was a member of N.A.F.C.A. He loved to be outdoors and enjoyed working around the yard. He always found things to make or fix. Joe loved talking to people and making them laugh. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date to be announced.
