Jean M Atkinson passed away after a brief illness February 20, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. Jean was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend who's life was defined by her deep love for her family and the simple joys that brought her happiness. She was a proud and loving grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and grand pups.
She is survived by son Kenneth Atkinson and his wife Michelle Scottsdale (AZ), son Steven Atkinson his wife Linda Medway (MA) and granddaughters Lindsey Halfelder and Jillian Tancrelland their family, son Charles Atkinson Middleboro (MA) and granddaughters Courtney and Kaitlin Atkinson, grandson Brian Atkinson, her daughter Deborah Willard (Atkinson) and her husband Michael Willard Kingston (MA) granddaughter KelseyButler, grandsons Matthew Butler and Stephen Butler, nephew Richard Ramponi and his daughter Dominique Ramponi, nephew Robert Ramponi his wife Jill and daughters Theresa and Angela, nephew Thomas Burke and his daughter Erin.
Jean was a former executive secretary at New England Telephone (20 Years). The family's greatest memories were made camping in the White Mountains and Cape Cod where she taught children and grandchildren how to drive. Those trips were filled with laughter fresh air and treasured moments with family that she carried in her heart throughout her life. She also found happiness in playing bingo with her dear friends Nancy, Mary and Joanie. The games and laughter were special parts of her life that she greatly valued.
Above all else, Jean loved her children and grandchildren unconditionally. Her strength, independence and caring spirit will live in each of them. Her ability to listen with compassion and provide valuable advise and guidance will remain a void with her loving family. Jean leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and devotion that will never be forgotten. Visitation will be held Friday February 27,2026 at 10:15 at the Lady of the Lake/ Holy Apostles Parish (575 Monponsett St, Halifax MA 02338) with a Mass to follow at 11:15.
Due to Catholic Lent; In lieu of flowers donations can be made to American Cancer Society to fight children's leukemia.
