Ingrid (Anderson) Whitman, 76, of Leominster, MA, died peacefully after a long illness on March 8, 2025.  Born in Bath, ME, Ingrid grew up in the Elmwood section of East Bridgewater, MA, and was a member of the EBHS class of 1966.  Survivors include a son, Marc O. Whitman, Jr.; a sister, Astrid Dodds; as well as her loving partner for 35 years, John Lauer, of Leominster. Ingrid was the grandmother of Marc O. Whitman III and Alexis Whitman. Her great-grandchildren are Skylyn Everly Whitman and Jaxxon Robert Whitman.  She is also survived by two nieces, Britta and Laura Anderson, and several Anderson cousins.  Prior to Leominster, Ingrid lived in Clinton and Winchester, MA,  Ingrid was pre-deceased by her son Matthew J. Whitman, by her brother, U.S. Navy Seal Eric B. Anderson, and by her beloved dog Moxie.  She was the daughter of the late Rev. Arvid L. and Ruth Anderson.  In the 1970-80s, Rev. Anderson was pastor of the Elmwood Church of the New Jerusalem, East Bridgewater. It was in Elmwood that Ingrid learned to ride horses.  She also loved dogs, music, and her family and friends.

A private burial at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton, will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Ingrid's memory to the charity of your choice.

A Graveside service will be held at the Melrose Cemetery 88 No. Pearl St. Brockton, MA 02301 on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11 AM.  The Family has asked that you RSVP if you plan to attend. They are planning to get together after the service.
