Brockton – Ingeborg (Fischer) Westgate, 77, of Brockton, MA, passed away unexpectedly Thursday August 11, 2016 at her home. She was born April 1, 1939 in Salzburg, Austria to the late Josef and Paula (Hillpointner) Fischer.  At age 15 (post WWII) she was adopted by her American family to the late Marion and Henry Walling of East Taunton, MA.

Inge worked at the Brockton VA hospital as a Nurse's Assistant prior to retiring in 2001.  She cherished spending time with her family and friends, and was always giving of herself with selfless love, generosity, and kindness. She enjoyed swimming in the summer, holiday gatherings, and watching and listening to German movies and music.

Inge is survived by her son, Edgar, and his wife, Lynn, of Middleboro, MA, daughter Debra (Westgate) Hebert and her husband Paul Hebert of Leominster, MA, and three grandchildren: Christina Westgate, and Matthew and Christopher Hebert. She is also survived by two sisters in Munich Germany, and one step sister. She was predeceased by her biological and adopted parents, one biological brother, two biological sisters, and three step sisters.

A private service will be held for immediate family members.
