Hugh Brenton France, 83, of Marshfield, MA passed away peacefully at home on the afternoon of April 10, 2025 with his family by his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Lorraine France (Pettee) and their three children; Donna, David, and Laurie, and son in law, Edward, all of Marshfield, MA. He's also survived by his three grandchildren, Michael, Jennifer and Heather DiPasquale. Son of the late Morritt France and Florence France-Harrison (Mackinnon). Hugh was a self taught carpenter and entrepreneur, building homes for a living, including two for his own family. He enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, and spending summers at "Cozy Cove", the family cottage on Lake Pawtuckaway in New Hampshire. In his later years, he enjoyed collecting coins and doing puzzles. Hughie was a devoted family man; a loving husband, father, grandfather uncle, and friend. He will be remembered by many for his kind and gentle nature and giving spirit. A Celebration of Hugh's life will be held at a later time.
