Gladys L. Benson (Fahrenholt) of Halifax passed away on January 27, 2013 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. She was 78 years old. She was the daughter of the late Irving & Ruth (Shea) Fahrenholt. She was the beloved wife of the late Curtis E. Benson and the loving mother of Scott E. Benson of Las Vegas, NV, Theresa L. Heneghan of East Bridgewater, and Charlene M. Cline of Colorado Springs, CO. She was the devoted sister of George Fahrenholt of Plympton, Dorothy Holt of Plymouth, Lucille Shea of Hartford, CT, and Janice Sweeney of Whitman. Gladys is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews.



Gladys has lived most of her life in Halifax. She enjoyed bird watching, feeding birds, and was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and all the other New England sports teams.



Visiting hours in the Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 West Washington St. (at rte 58) Hanson on Thursday, January 31, from 6-8 pm. A funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday at 12:30 pm in the funeral home with burial to follow in Central Cemetery, Halifax. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
