Francis passed away peacefully while sleeping at the age of 94 on June 23 rd 2026. Born on December 31st 1932 in Boston MA he was the son of the late Catherine and Francis Calogero Sr. Francis grew up in South Boston with his brother Richard Calogero. He proudly served his country as a United Sates Marine. In 1965, Francis married the love of his life: the late Marie A. Calogero (Ferranti). Francis and Marie were married for 44 years before her passing. Francis retired from the Cambridge Police Department in 1992 after 28 years of service. There Francis worked with his brother-in-law John Ferranti. Francis loved talking to John every day since their retirement.

Francis is survived by his two sons: Francis L. Calogero III and his wife Colleen of East Bridgewater & Peter F. Calogero Sr and his wife Jennifer of Middleboro. Francis was a dedicated and loving father to his boys. Francis was a very proud grandfather to Peter F. Calogero Jr, Sarah M. Calogero, Jake D. Calogero & Patricia M. Calogero. Francis always loved his family whether immediate or extended. Francis is survived by many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews that he stayed in contact with.

Francis loved a good joke and a funny story. He lived a long life filled with wonderful memories of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 9 th at 11 AM at Holy Apostles Parish, St Joseph the Worker Church (Corners of Rte 58 and 14) Hanson. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will be private at a later date.
