Elizabeth (Betsy) Stanton, resident of Hanson, died December 28, 2018 after a recent illness.

Miss Stanton taught in New York State for 32 years. Upon moving to Hanson, she was active in the First Baptist Church.  She was involved in the founding of the Christian Childcare Center and in the founding and operation of the early years of the Hanson Food Pantry.  She was also an active member of Helping Hands, a service outreach program of the First Baptist Church.

She was the sister of the late William Lyman Stanton of New Hartford, NY and the late Richard Thomas Stanton of Hanover, MA.  She is survived by her sister in law Hilmaine P. Stanton, and nieces and nephews.

In place of flowers, donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of the First Baptist Church, 214 Main Street, Hanson.
