Edward L. Fitzpatrick Jr., retired Boston Fire Lieut. E-16  formerly of Hanson passed away Wednesday March 23, 2016 at the age of 72. Beloved husband of the late Kathleen M. (Miller) Fitzpatrick. Loving father of Kevin M. and his wife Michaela Fitzpatrick of Mansfield, Kate J. Fitzpatrick of Dublin, Ireland, Molly E. Fitzpatrick of Ecuador, and the late Edward L. Fitzpatrick III of So. Hamilton. Grandfather of Elizabeth Ann Miller of Hanson,and twins Sarah and Quinn Fitzpatrick of Mansfield, and Christian Fitzpatrick of New Bedford. Also survived by Kathleen's children Darrell M. Miller of Abington, Robert J. of Franklin, Cynthia A. of Hanson and Granddaughter, Marian Miller. Son of the late Boston Firefighter Edward L Sr. and Hazel M. (Kirk) Fitzpatrick of East Boston. Brother of James M. Fitzpatrick of CA and Nancy J. Sweeney of No. Reading. Edward was raised in East Boston and lived in Milton for many years.

A Lieutenant on the Boston Fire Department he served for 33 years before retiring. He served on E-52, E-18 and E-16. He retired and settled with his wife Kathleen in Hanson in the year 2000. They traveled much and he always kept busy with his home and many hobbies. He was a member of The Nocturnal Adoration Society, Firefighters of The Cross, and St. Florian Firefighters.

Visiting hours will be held in the Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 West Washington St. (Corner Rte. 58) Hanson on Monday 4-8 PM. Funeral Mass in St. Joseph the Worker Church Corner Rte's 14 and 58, Hanson on Tuesday at 9 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
