Dorothy Jean (Vandale) Hammond -(Dottie) passed away Dec 1, 2025, peacefully while being cared for by her two daughters at her daughter's home in Rockland MA. Dottie was born Mar 5, 1936, in Boston, MA. She lived in Hanson, MA, where she raised her 4 children and later moved to Halifax, MA.

She was a bartender at JJ's Pub in Hanson for many years. She was an avid animal lover and had many pets over the years, and loved them all, from her raccoons to her cockatiel and every animal in between, especially her beloved dog Annie. Her infectious personality and sense of humor created many lifelong friendships; she cherished the times making others laugh and feel welcome. She is predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Theodore Hammond, and is survived by her four children, Rita (Shields) Zimmerman of Clearwater, FL, Joseph Shields and his wife Mary of Clearwater, FL,  Pamela (Shields) Corrigan and her husband Joseph of Rockland, MA, and Robert Shields and his wife Lauren of Halifax, MA. She also leaves behind 10 Grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Private family services will be held at a later date
