Donald Robert Ussher, Sr., age 85, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025. Born on July 6, 1940, Don lived a life defined by quiet strength, deep devotion to family, and a love for the simple joys that made each day meaningful.

Don graduated from Brighton High School and proudly served in the Air National Guard. He built a career as a skilled printer, working for both The Boston Globe and The Christian Science Monitor, and later retired from SRC Medical in Hanover, MA. He raised his family in Halifax, Massachusetts, where he was a steady and loving presence in the lives of those around him.

He is survived by his children, Heather Dawn Furman and her husband, Dr. Mark I. Furman, and Donald Robert Ussher, Jr., and his wife Alison L. Romano Ussher. He was a proud grandfather to Kasey Lynne Dietzman (28), Benjamin Lyle Dietzman (24), Bailey Eleanor Dietzman (24), Matthew Robert Heath (19), Levi Robert Ussher (7), Rhett James Ussher (6), and Wes Thomas Ussher (4). Don also leaves behind his former wife, Sharolyn Fagone, and her husband, Frank Fagone.

He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Mabel Ussher, whose values and love shaped the man he became.

Don had a special fondness for train travel, a good cup of coffee, and jelly donuts. He was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, cheering them on through every season with unwavering loyalty. But above all, he cherished time with his family. His warmth, humor, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A private memorial will be held by the family to honor Don's life and legacy.
