Sarno, Johnson (Peters), Darlene Marjorie, born August 23, 1926, to the late Raymond & Geraldine Peters, Loudonville, Ohio. Formerly of Cambridge and Arlington, Massachusetts passed on Monday, March 23 after a period of failing health under the wonderful care of the staff at the John Scott House in Braintree.
Predeceased by her husband Albert, daughter Freda, and sisters Janice and Beverly. Survived by her daughter Catherine Vergato and her companion Frank Schuler of Medford, her son Frederick Johnson and his wife Mary Anne of Hanson, and her son Richard Sarno and his wife Elizabeth of Burlington. Also survived by her sisters Vivian, Marian, and Ramona.
She was the grandmother to 11, great grandmother to 10 and great great grandmother to 4. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
Marjorie was a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary with the Frederick H. Sullivan Auxiliary, VFW Post 1628 Bedford, Mass. She attended numerous State Conventions in Massachsetts and across the Country. She had a great respect for our Service Members and proudly wore her Flag Pins and "Poppy" on Memorial Day.
Visiting hour on Thursday, March 26, from 9-10 am with a funeral service to follow at 10 am in the Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 West Washington St. (At Rte 58), Hanson. Burial will follow at 11:30 am in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. For directions or to send an online condolence visit www.mackinnonfuneralhomes.com.
