Clifford W. Peterson of Halifax passed away Friday, November 27, 2015 at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband of Rosemary A. Monaghan, the late Joan S. (Little) Peterson, and the late Joan M. (Persichillo) Peterson. Son of the late Arthur O. and Alma E. (Birmingham) Peterson. Loving father of Andrew C. Peterson and his wife Katie Arnold of Roslindale, Barbara J. Peterson of Easton, and the late Mark R. Peterson of Pembroke. Step father of Dina M. LaPrade and her husband Shane of Attleboro and Robert S. Monaghan of Los Angeles, CA. Beloved brother of Marjorie Morehardt of Halifax and many other late brothers and sisters. Clifford is the proud grandfather of Jenna Curren, Jack and Caroline Peterson and Brayden and Chase LaPrade. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and his loving dog Stormy.
Clifford was a graduate of the University of New Hampshire class of 1959 and earned a Bachelor's Arts in History. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, Vietnam era and was employed at Proctor and Gamble in Quincy for 30 years. He has lived in Halifax since 1996 and is a member of Silver Lake Chapel in Plympton.
A funeral service will be held in the Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 West Washington St. (Corner Rte. 58) Hanson on Thursday December 3rd at 11 AM. Visiting hours will be from 9-11 AM before the service. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment is at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Clifford's memory to Silver Lake Chapel 33 Lake St. Plympton, MA 02367 where he found both faith and friendship with his church family. Cliff was a humble man with a rich life who took each day as it was given to him. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of a good pipe, a cold beer, scratch tickets and most of all the company of his family, friends and his grandchildren. Cliff loved well and is well-loved. He will be missed.
