Barbara (Shaughnessy) O'Malley, 80, of Pembroke, passed away on September 11th  at home surrounded by her family and loved ones.  Barbara was predeceased by her loving husband Patrick O'Malley, and Daughter of the late George L. and Anna (Geary) Shaughnessy.  Loving mother of Sean O'Malley and his Partner Sue; Michael O'Malley; Joseph O'Malley and his wife Lisa; Kerry (O'Malley) Toler and her husband Paul, all of Pembroke. Sister of George Shaughnessy and his wife Donna of Whitman; and the late Robert L. Shaughnessy and his wife Carleen of Falmouth, MA. Loving Nannie to Keryn, Tory, Sean, Keelin and Grace. Barbara was also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Barbara was born and raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing Central High School.  Barbara dedicated her life's work to taking care of others who needed it most, which was something that came natural for her. Barbara impacted so many lives in her 80 years. She was incredibly generous, caring, and had a special way of making everyone she met feel welcome and like a friend.  Barbara devoted her life to her family and was at her happiest when surrounded by her grandchildren, and all of the children who she loved as her own. Whether it be summers in Falmouth, playing cards with her friends, or decorating for Christmas in October, Barbara had a special way of enjoying her life which was something to be admired.

Barbara will be deeply missed by everyone she leaves behind but we are grateful for all her love and memories.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday September 16, 2021 at 10:00 am at St. Marys located at 392 Hanover Street in Hanover, interment to follow at Pembroke Center Cemetery.
