IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alice R.
Dzierzeski
April 22, 2024
Alice R. Dzierzeski passed away peacefully on April 22nd at the age of 82. A devoted mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her four children, Michael Dzierzeski of Cape Coral FL, Michelle Abbott of Hanover, MA, Richard Dzierzeski of Woodsville, NH and Marie Minihan of Hanover, MA. She also leaves behind eleven grandchildren (who called her Grand-mere) and two great grandchildren.
One of seven children, Alice grew up in South Boston where she attended South Boston High School. After graduating in 1957, she attended Boston Business School in Roxbury. She later became a legal secretary.
Alice had a Master's degree in Elementary Education and worked as a fourth-grade teacher for 20 years in the Duxbury School System. Teaching was her joy and she poured her heart and soul into it. A skillful teacher with bountiful patience, she expertly taught her students with kindness and energy.
Alice's many passions in life included gardening, traveling, and reading. She loved growing red geraniums out in her rock garden in Maine, and as she grew into retirement, she was the head of the garden club at White Pine Village. One of her favorite activities was sending out newsletters to the members as well as organizing guest speakers and field trips.
She was an avid reader who always had a book by her side, devouring them on her front porch or just before bed. She enjoyed historical fiction as well as a good romance novel.
Alice and her friends had many adventures near and far. She went on several pilgrimages with Father Bob to Lourdes, Our Lady of Fatima, and Jerusalem. She also loved traveling with her family, experiencing many magical places such as St Maarten, Greece, Tuscany, and Paris.
Alice greatly valued her friends; she treasured her interactions with them, often sharing a glass of wine or two on her front porch. She was always a welcome friend with a smile and positive attitude and will be missed by so many.
