Kyle McGivney, long time resident of Hanson, Ma. died unexpectedly on August 4,2020.
Born in Westerly, R.I., he was the son of Marlene F. McGivney and the late William R. McGivney Sr. of Hanson. He was the beloved brother to William R. McGivney Jr. of Boston, MA, Lea Bouchard of Kingston, Ma, Paul McGivney of Hawley, Pa., Sarah Turner and her husband David of San Diego, Ca., Dana McGivney and his wife Lori of Rockland, MA. He was the cherished, fun loving Uncle to Melissa, Jared, Will, Marielle, Alissa, Rachele, D.J, Joshua, Chloe and Arianna.
A man of quiet faith, he was always mindful of the needs of others and demonstrated his faith through action. Kyle was a beloved long time member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross in Hanover, Ma and was very active in his church and served on church council as deacon of social ministry. He was the organizer , deliverer and server of meals brought to Father Bills and Mainspring once a month, the churches contact for Plymouth Department of Children and Family Services making sure 15-20 children had Christmas every year and with the Coffeehouse for the disabled that was held at his church, he was always there to lend a helping hand when needed.
Kyle was the long-time familiar face that would greet you at the door on Sunday morning church with a handshake or a hug and a smile. He was a kind, gentle, compassionate man who would always ask about how you and your family were doing, He genuinely cared about each and every one. He was always there to lend a helping hand wherever needed. His work ethic was second to none
He enjoyed yard work and would enjoy a cigar while doing it.
He loved Maine where he spent childhood vacations with his family and would take spontaneous trips up there for a weekend getaway. He was a true Boston sports fan and loved the red sox and the bruins. He would always have a Cumberland Farms ice coffee in hand, where he would make daily trips and got to know the workers there, they adored him and his daily visits.
Kyle was a special man with a heart of gold. He touched the hearts and lives of all who were blessed to know him. He will be missed greatly but never forgotten.
Calling hours are on Wednesday August 12th 9am-11am , followed by funeral service at 11:00 at the Lutheran Church of the Cross, 77 Rockland St., Hanover, MA.
