Judith Hetrick Obituary

Judith E Hetrick, age 80 of Warwick, RI, and formerly of Hanson MA, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on March 9th.

Judy was a retired Case Manager for the Brockton Coalition for The Homeless who found great joy in helping people. Judy was born in Brockton, MA, to the late Leon and Mary Rich and lived most of her life in Hanson with her loving husband of almost 58 years, Gary Hetrick, who predeceased her by fourteen months. Judy loved to garden and was especially happy when she could pass on herbs or other perennials that she had grown to family and friends to enjoy in their own gardens. She loved Irish music especially when she was able to hear the music played live. She also considered herself to be the number one fan of Tom Jones and would often joke that one day she was going to rush on stage so that she could dance with him to “It’s Not Unusual”. She loved to cook, especially for holidays and would always do her best to make the favorites of her children and grandchildren. Judy enjoyed knitting, conversation with friends and watching game shows but, her greatest love was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Judy was the devoted mother of Julie Hetrick of Scituate, RI, Jeffrey Hetrick of Plympton, MA, and Eric Hetrick of Raynham, MA. She was predeceased by her dear siblings: Patricia Phipps, Marilee Rich and Howard Rich. Judy is also survived by her sons-in-law Frank D'Alessandro and Glenn (Gonsalves)Hetrick and her daughter-in-law Kelly (Hasson) Hetrick. She is also survived and will be eternally adored by her loving grandchildren, (Ryan, Damon, Nathan, Nora and Declan), as well as, many loving nieces and nephews.  Arrangements have been postponed at this time.  However, as a memoriam to Judith, donations may be made to Father Bill’s and Mainspring  at helpfbms.org/donate or 430 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
