Virginia E (Whitman) Alden

Virginia E. (Whitman) Alden of Hanson passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the age of 94.  She was the beloved wife of the late Gordon Alden.  Loving mother of Virginia D. David of FL, Nancy M. O'Roak of Whitman, Rebecca Kuhn of Carver, Beverly Masciulli of FL and Deborah Masciulli of Pembroke.  Sister of Ernest Whitman of Centerville, the late Betty Maloney and the late Charles Whitman, both of Abington.  Also survived by 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Virginia lived in Hanson since 1959.  A graduate of the University of Chicago School of Nursing, she worked as a registered nurse at Brockton Hospital and Braemore Nursing Home in Whitman for many years.  She also worked for the Leighton Funeral Home in Hanson as a telephone receptionist while living next door to George and Midge Leighton.  She was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Boston Bruins.

A graveside service will be held at the Fern Hill Cemetery, High St., Hanson on Thursday August 11th at 10:00AM.  Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.
