Welcome to the memorial page for

Richard R. Andreassi

June 6, 1970 ~ August 28, 2015 (age 45) 45 Years Old

Richard R. Andreassi, 45 of Pembroke, formerly of West Roxbury, died on Friday August 28, unexpectedly.

He is survived by his loving wife Judean (Miner) and his devoted daughter Jacqueline Janet “JJ”. His beloved brothers Sebastian of West Roxbury, and Rocco and his wife Debbie of Las Vegas, Nevada. He was the loving son in law of Arthur and Jacqueline Miner of Hanson, and the loving brother “outlaw” to Renee Miner of Kingston, Joseph and Lauren (Miner) Pothier of Pembroke, and Arthur and Elaine Miner of Marlborough. A first generation Italian-American, his death leaves a hole felt deeply by his large tight-knit family including many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and life long friends both here and in Poggiofiorito, Italy. He was the loving son of the late Rocco and Adelina (DiMartino) Andreassi.

Rich has been a South Shore resident for the past 12 years, recently settling in Pembroke. Growing up in West Roxbury, he was a graduate of Catholic Memorial High School - class of 1988. He attended Bentley College, while working alongside his father and brothers in their utilities construction company. He was a second generation board member of the Saint Matthews Society of Hyde Park.

In 2012, he began a new career working as a conductor on Amtrak. He loved his job on the train, and quickly discovered his new co-workers were just like family too. He served as the Secretary Treasurer of Local 262, Transportation Division of the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers.

Rich was a 20 year New England Patriot season ticket holder. He was known as “Frenchie” to the guys in section 303, row 9, seats 5-10 (along with Fraser & Frank). Always a dedicated fan, he insisted his wedding and honeymoon coincide with the Patriots bye week.

Rich was a fun loving, kind hearted soul who would give you the shirt off his back. He was a gentle giant who will be greatly missed. His smile, his wit, his generous spirit will never be forgotten. His love will continue on through his beautiful brown eyed girl.
