           John M. Mitchell of South Easton Ma Passed away peacefully on Thursday March 30th 2017. He was the husband of the late Mary Mitchell.

          John Was Born in Boston in 1927. He was a WWII veteran who served with the United States Army. He was part of the 88th Infantry Division, also known as the “Blue Devils”. A few of the clubs and Organizations John was involved with include The Ames Rifle and Pistol Club of North Easton, The VFW of North Easton Post 2597, and he was an NRA instructor in Easton as well.  John was an avid reader and Bird watcher and also loved fishing and shooting.  On a daily basis, John would meet up with his friends for coffee. A long-time nick name given to John by his late wife Mary was “Grumps”. John was a very loving and caring man and he will be truly missed by his family and friends.  

          John leaves behind 4 loving Children., Scott C. Mitchell of New Bedford, Karen M. Mitchell of South Easton, Stephen B. Mitchell and his wife Theresa of East Bridgewater, and Kate Mitchell of Mashpee. . Also survived by his only Granddaughter, Melissa Mitchell and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Ellis Dougall Deming.

          Visiting hours will be held on Monday April 3rd 2017 in the Holy Trinity Church, 143 Lincoln St. North Easton from 4-7PM. Family and friends respectfully invited to attend.  There will be a full military burial with military honors on Tuesday April 4th 2017 at 10:30AM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Ave Bourne MA. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Johns name to the D.A.V,  (Disabled American Veterans) Charitable Service Trust, 3725 Alexandria Pike , Cold Spring KY 41076.
