To Rachel and John's family, I am so very sorry for your loss. I will forever fondly remember John and the love he showed for his dear Rachel. He had such a strong spirit, compassionate heart, and at 100 a memory like a steel trap. He shared many wonderful, insightful and heartwarming stories. He will be missed here and lovingly welcomed into the open arms of our Lord. God Bless you John.

We remember John so fondly and have lovely memories of visiting with him and Rachel in their Halifax living room. He was quite a conversationist and was warm and open, AND he stayed mentally sharp until the day he died at 100 years old - WOW! He had a dry sense of humor and often made us laugh. Once he was telling us about his father being a track star, and he said, "I can't run fast enough to keep myself warm!"
John was a real lover of music and enjoyed reminiscing about the music and bands of his earlier days. Jimmy Dorsey and Rudy Vallee were favorites among many others. For these last many years, when John was asked how he was doing, he would always respond, "still hangin' on" which he attributed to one of his favorite radio personalities who always ended his show with, "This is ______, still hanging on." I can't for the life of me remember who that was, but still I wanted to share that.
We are so honored to have known John Harrigan!
