Welcome to the memorial page for

Eva June (Pickering) Smith

December 18, 2016

Eva June (Pickering) Smith of Halifax died peacefully in her home of 20 years on December 18th, at the age of 81. She was surrounded by many treasured mementos and knick-knacks from her beautiful life.

June – as she was known to many – was the wife of the late George Donald Smith, who went home to the Lord in June of 2015. George and June had three sons, Norman D. Smith and his wife Frann of N.C., William K. Smith of Conn., and Thomas F. Smith and his wife Gayle of Brockton. George and June were married for an incredible 62 years and were the epitome of what love is. Her family is comforted by the fact that she is now at peace and back home with her “hunny” whom she’s missed tremendously since his passing. June enjoyed serving the Lord, visits from her family, shopping on QVC, the New England Patriots, Tom Selleck on “Blue Bloods”, trips to McDonalds with her granddaughter, and taking care of her pet beloved parakeet, Chipper.

She has 5 grandchildren that she loved dearly: Stephanie and Brian of TN., Vanessa of ME, and Cassaundra and her boyfriend Douglas, Kevin and his wife Annina of Brockton. She also has two great-grandchildren, Courtney and Alyssa, of ME. She retired from the Foxboro Company.

A committal ceremony at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne will be scheduled at a later date where she will be laid to rest next to George. We’ll always “love you more” Grammie.
