Elinor (Ellie) Perkins Obituary

Elinor (Ellie) J Perkins of Hanson passed away peacefully at home on June 25, 2018 at the age of 75 yrs.  She is survived by her sons; Stephen D Perkins of Whitman and Douglas A Perkins Jr of Hanson, and her grandchildren Samuel and Haley Mae.  Ellie is survived also by her sister Carol Hastings of Duxbury.

Ellie was a devoted wife to the late Douglas A Perkins Sr, who died in 2011.  She raised her family lovingly on Harvey Circle in the town of Hanson for the last 48 yrs.  She was a lover of animals and plants, and an especially creative cook.  Ellie had a special knack for mixing unexpected ingredients to common dishes.  She enjoyed it most making you guess the flavor that made an otherwise boring meal delicious.

Ellie is inspirational.  She overcame exceptional adversity in life with remarkable resilience.  Her soft demeanor disguised a toughness made of positive thinking and faith in God.  She faced many years of physical health challenges with a brave smile on her face.  She was a sweet, gentle, kind and caring person with a happy and friendly personality that people couldnít help but fall in love with.

Ellie will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Visiting hours will be in the Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home, 4 West Washington St. (Corner Rte. 58), Hanson  Thursday June 28th from  4:00-8:00 PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial at a later date.
