David H. Bonney of Hanson passed away at his home Friday November 18, 2016 at the age of 86. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to the late Margaret E. (Turner) Bonney. Son of the late Fred and Martha (Halstead) Bonney. Loving father of Wayne D. and his wife Mary of Reeves, LA, Kevin N. and his wife Kimberley of Pembroke, and Melanie Siek and her husband Jonathan of Holderness, NH. Bother of the late Robert Bonney. Step brother of the late Skip, Buddy, and Phillip. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren. and several nieces and nephews.

David was a graduate of Quincy Vocational High School. He grew up in Plympton. He started building homes with his Brother (Bonney Bros.)  He was a car salesman and sold new cars in East Bridgewater and Brockton. He Worked for Schofeild Realty building apartment buildings and became the General Manager. He was a member of the Mass Building Inspector's of MA and became the Building Inspector in Hanson and Hanover serving 10 years in each town. He was very active with the Boy Scouts and was a Leader for Troup 35 in Hanson for many years. David  was an active member in the First Baptist Church in Hanson and was on the Board of Trustee's for several years. He loved to camp, ski, and snow mobile up in Franconia Notch. He also loved gardening, riding his motorcycle, and watching his grandchildren play all kinds of sports. Motorcycles will lead him to the Cemetery from the church. In lieu of suit jackets you are asked to wear  your leather jackets or leather attire for the service.


Visiting hours will be held in the Leighton-MacKinnon Funeral Home 4 West Washington St. (Corner of Rte. 58) Hanson on Tuesday 5-8 PM. Funeral service's will be held in the First Baptist Church 214 Main St.,(Rte. 27) Hanson Wednesday at 10 AM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Burial will follow in Fern Hill Cemetery, Hanson.
